The Greek Islands are beautiful. I spent one holiday moving between some of the islands and it was super easy. I did not have to pre-book anything. I decided when I got there, although, of course, I had an idea about which islands I wanted to visit. I checked some of the ferry companies, and bought the tickets. It was easy. I started my journey from the port of Rafina, but you can go from Piraeus as well.

The Blue Star ferries company is one of the cheapest, and you can organise all the tickets at the airport in Athens ( www.bluestarferries.com) , but there a lots of other ones, and speed boats as well.

The islands that I went to were all part of the Cyclades: Tinos, Mykonos, Delos and Andros. The best port for these islands is Rafina, it had the best timetable. You can catch a bus that goes to Rafina from Athens airport.

The Island of Tinos is quite a pretty island. It’s a lot cheaper than Mykonos. It’s only twenty minutes from Mykonos by speed boat. This Island is very famous for its pilgrimages. It has a famous church Panagia Megalochari (the Blessed Virgin Mary). You can stay here and do a day trip to Mykonos.
A ilha de Tinos e muito bonita, fica só a vinte minutos de Mykonos de speed boat, e muito mais barata. A ilha e famosa por suas procissões. Tem uma igreja famosa que se chama Panagia Megalochari ( A abencoada Virgin Maria). Você pode ficar aqui, e fazer passeios a Mykonos.

Mykonos is a very glamourous island. It’s famous for its beautiful beaches and scenery. It has some of the best examples of Cycladic architecture and a spellbinding attraction for visitors. Stroll around its narrow marble streets and admire whitewashed houses with colourful doors and window frames, bougainvillea trees in purple bloom and hidden churches.

The Island of Delos is very close to Mykonos. It’s another Island you can do a day trip to.

The Beautiful Island of Andros is not very far from Athens, and it’s very polular with Greek tourists. Ormos beach, on the eastern side, is great for windsurfing. Chora is the main village of Andros, distinguished by its gorgeous architecture and elegant mansions. Due to its rich marine heritage in the past century, the locals constructed impressive mansions all over the island.
