The Bohemian city of Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The capital of Czech Republic, its history goes back millennia. The beer there is supposed to be the best in Europe.
Visitors from all the world come to view this incredible city. The 1989 Velvet Revolution that freed the Czechs from communism bequeathed to Europe a gem of a city to stand beside stalwarts such as Rome, Amsterdam and London. The crowds can’t take away from the spectacle of a 14th-century stone bridge, a hilltop castle and a lovely, lazy river – the Vltava – that inspired one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of 19th-century classical music in Smetana’s set of symphonic poems Má Vlast.
Prague is a paradise for the wanderer. There is always a place to explore a little bit more. Just a few streets away from the Old Town Square you can stumble across ancient chapels, unexpected gardens, cute cafes and old-fashioned bars with hardly a tourist in sight.
Charles Bridge connects the Old Town with the Lesser Town: this popular pedestrian bridge is filled with musicians, painters, vendors and tourists during the summertime.
One of Europe’s biggest and most beautiful urban spaces, Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí, or Staromák for short) has been Prague’s principal public square since the 10th century, and was its main marketplace until the beginning of the 20th Century.
Prague’s art galleries may not have the allure of the Louvre, but Bohemian art offers much to admire, from the glowing Gothic altarpieces in the Convent of St Agnes, to the luscious art nouveau posters and stained glass of Alfons Mucha, and the magnificent collection of 20th-century surrealists.
I had an amazing time in Prague. It is definitely one city that has a lot to offer. Everywhere you look is beautiful: it’s like being in a fairy-tale town!
Great photos!

The beer brewed in the Czech Republic is indeed one of the best in the world. It means a lot to its reputation, when you can buy its famous brew in a small town in Canada. Recently we watched a video on Prague on YouTube. Your post was an excellent refresher of what we have seen .Thank you so much, my friend.

Beautiful! The clock is amazing! Does it chime? I’ve never seen a Mucha stained glass, such detail and color. And last but not least what adorable yellow penguins. 😊❤️

Yes, great pix. I esp liked the building with the greened-out metal roof — of I’d guess brass or bronze. I am alerted that I need a new monitor. Thanks for your likes on mine.
