Edinburgh is a great city which has a lot to offer. It’s the Scottish capital. It is an elegant city with some Georgian building in the New Town (although not so ‘new’ any more as it is nearly three two hundred years old!), and stunning medieval architecture.
The Royal Mile is a beautiful stretch of road that forms the main street of the Old Town. It is really a group of roads that have lead up all the way to Edinburgh Castle. The Royal Mile is the busiest tourist street in the Old Town, rivaled only by Princes Street in the New Town.
Edinburgh Castle is an amazing Fortress that dominates the skyline of the city. The Castle sits on the top of a hill, and is pretty amazing, looking really ancient and medieval. It is the number one tourist attraction. The castle houses the Honors (Crown Jewels) of Scotland, the Stone of Destiny, the famous 15th century gun Mons Meg, the One O’Clock Gun and the National War Museum of Scotland. The views from the castle are also stunning.
Around the Castle you can walk through a park, and from there you can see the Castle on the top of the hill. If you have the opportunity to visit the Castle, apart from the views, you can learn about the history. There are lots of guided tours, and there is also an audio guide.
Holyrood park is formed of a group of hills in Edinburgh. Arthur’s seat is the main peak. You can climb all the way to the top of the hills, I think it only takes about thirty to forty minutes, and you will have breathtaking views. Well worth the walk.
There so many things to do in this interesting city. It is very good for shopping, sitting in cafes, and enjoying the city and its surrounding countryside. I have visited this city on many different occasions and it’s an all-year-round city. In the summer, Edinburgh hosts the famous Edinburgh Festival with lots of theatre, comedy and music. The city becomes very busy and vibrant at this time.
‘Lang may yer lum reek!’ As they say up here – or: ‘Live long and prosper!’
Estivemos no inverno em Edimburgo, cidade encantadora, com seu castelo, ruelas e cafés. Pena que o clima frio e de muita chuva limitou a exploração pela Escócia. Grande abraço.

I agree with the sentiment, but I’m having trouble getting past the idea that “reek” means something good.

We’ve had so many issues with wp (by that I mean not only me but the wp community) many have become lost as they aren’t showing up on reader or daily and it’s a guessing game as to who can actually click on my site, or like anything. It’s been going on for months. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon…I went from 100 ppl visiting daily to sometimes 3 or 20 depending on how many can find me. I’m in the same boat as I can’t find anyone else either and when I do it says they are not there as if they gave up their wp site. I know this is not so as I see them chatting with other bloggers.

Your welcome. I’ve contacted them but the response is limited, probably because they knocked 1000 ppl offline or so I was told by someone in the know. Good luck!

What a beautiful place! And I love the salutation! Scottish dialect I’m supposing. And on a silly side note… it reminds me of Star Trek. Isn’t that similar to what Spock says. 🙃. Great post as always 😊
