Serpentine Gallery

If you are looking for something new to do in London, The Serpentine Gallery is the place to go. It is situated in Kensington Gardens, in Hyde Park, London. There are two gallery branches, one at the north side, and the other one on the south side. They are less than ten minutes walk from each other, over a bridge across the Serpentine lake – very easy.

Their exhibitions, architecture, education and public programmes attract up to 1.2 million visitors a year. Admission to both galleries is free. So, if you ever came to London in the UK there is no excuse to visit, and it’s right in the centre of London.

I have visited this gallery many times before. Luckily, I was able to come this time and see an amazing photography exhibition of James Barnor called ‘Accra/London – A Retrospective’. He is a British-Ghanaian photographer who captures images of societies in transition and transformation.

James Barnor moved around between London and Accra and made social documentary photography. He recorded major social and political changes during his career.

I find James Barnor extremely talented, and it’s very interesting how he managed to capture such amazing photography sharing his extraordinary life and work with new generations.
