At Home with Frida Kahlo

I had the privilege to visit the Museo Frida Kahlo, also known as the Blue House. The museum is dedicated to the life and work of Frida. If you want to have a greater understand about the artist you should make a visit here. It is always extremely busy, and online booking is extremely advised. I did that and it was very easy and straightforward.

The house has a very well kept and pretty garden where you can walk around. There are differents rooms. One room is dedicated to Frida’s dresses, and focuses on Kahlo’s image and famous style. There are displays of many of the dresses, alongside her spine-straightening corsets.

One thing that surprised me was that there are quite a few of her paintings displayed here. Frida sold lots of her work, and many of her paintings are owned by private collectors. You can see lots of her work in a Museo called Dolores Olmedo Museum. She acquired lots of Diego & Frida works, and now exhibits them in her museum.

Kahlo’s works always express her struggle in life. Since her accident, she started painting, and through her work she tells us about what an amazing, and difficult life she had, from being involved in the Mexican revolution, and her relationship with Diego Rivera.
