Minuit à Paris!

Which city is the best one to spend your evening wondering around? The City of Lights, Paris, of course. I have been to this city on numerous occasions, at different times of the day but the night time is the most striking for me. I find that when you don’t have the pressure to visit all the wonderful museums and galleries and other sites, you can just go with the flow – it is definitely the best time!

Paris has the most exciting places to visit. On my walk, I came across the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile, one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l’Étoile.

Walking across the River Seine at night time was an amazing experience. The Seine is a 777-kilometre-long (483 mi) river and an important commercial waterway within the Paris Basin in the north of France.

If you walk along the river you are going to see the magnificent Eiffel Tower. You cannot miss the shining glowing tower with beautiful golden lights.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Constructed from 1887–89 as the entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair. The tower is one of the most visited, and recognised monuments in the world.

The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level’s upper platform is 276 m (906 ft) above the ground – the highest observation deck accessible to the public in the European Union. Tickets can be purchased to ascend by stairs or lift to the first and second levels. The climb from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the climb from the first level to the second. Although there is a staircase to the top level, it is usually accessible only by lift.

On the way back from my walk I became lost trying to find my way back to the hotel. I passed by many pretty buildings.

In my evening visit to Paris, I discovered a city full of lights, and felt that there was no better time for wondering around. Paris is quite a busy city and most of the attractions are spread out – the only slight downside, unless you like walking! If you ever visit this incredible city, you must enjoy the night time!

  1. Thank you very much for sharing your stunning photos of Paris at night. I was there in 1992 and after being dumped uncerimoniously spend n ights writing poetry beside the Seine near Pont Neuf. I feel I was mad in hindsight and anything could’ve happened to me. It was a very intense time.
